wednesday i took a break from my not getting as much done as i should for the big move to take a "R and D" trip to Chicago with the gang from 7s...which basically means we all got scha-wasted.
First off, we visited the Clark Street Ale House where we had beer and ateChicago hot dogs....mmmmmm
next, we headed to a bar called Delilahs, which had the most expansive back bar i have ever seen. they had everything.

here i enjoyed many vodka drinks, and discovered my new favorite vodka, Zubrowka....mmmmmm
Zubrowka is a Polish Vodka made from Buffalo Grass, and has slight flavors of vanilla and almond...super tasty.
Next was the reason for the whole trip, the Violet Hour. They have classic cocktails,
large selection, and incredibly knowledgeable bartenders....for a price. the signature cocktails are all $11, and take the bartenders about 4 minutes to make because they all have about 5 ingredients.
It is at this point that i once again had the epiphany that while i love booze, i am just not THAT into it. These guys were nuts. 5 kinds of ice, swirling tiny droplets of bitters and what not in glasses, flaming orange peels, etc. At first, it was a little off putting, and while the drinks were good, after tasting everyones, we started to feel like the flavors were similar from drink to drink. sure, one was made with gin and one with whiskey, but they all were balanced with sweetness, sourness, and strongness (which the bartender explained to us), so that in the end, they just seemed....the same. Great place for maybe a cocktail or twom but after having several your palatte will be shot.
Then we ate tacos y burritos....which made me do this....
Basically, it was an awesome trip, and i had lots of fun.
New York begins monday, I will update as much as i can, because my life will suddenly become WAY more interesting.
